Volunteer at Julian Farm and Orchard

Julian Farm and Orchard is dedicated to teaching the public about where our food comes from, sustainable farming, and sharing our little piece of Julian.

Our volunteers experience a high-level opportunity to interact with the public whether it be greeting and answering questions or helping with the farming side of the operation. As a volunteer, you will get first-hand experience in the agrotourism industry.

Volunteers will be primarily needed on the weekends and during special events. We ask volunteers to put in a minimum of 7 hours a month. We will work with your schedule.

All volunteers will be expected to be familiar with farm operations, the property layout, and be familiarized with the greater Julian area. (We will help you learn these avenues.)

Volunteers may choose to volunteer in any of the following areas:

  • Petting Zoo – Ensure guests are being gentle with animals and answer frequently asked questions about our farm animals.

  • U-Pick – Teach guests proper u-pick techniques and answer FAQs.

  • Farming – Help Farmer Josh with a variety of farm tasks.

  • Greeter - Assist the ticket booth by greeting customers, helping guests calculate activity tickets, and directing visitors around the farm.

  • Gift Shop - Learn the ins and outs of retail by volunteering in our gift shop.

  • Special Events - Get first-hand experience in the event planning world.

  • Litter Patrol - Collect trash that has not found its way to a trash can.
