Animal Policy

PETS:

Well-behaved and leashed dogs are allowed on the farm – ON PATHWAYS ONLY and NOT in any of the crop producing areas. This includes berries, pumpkins, flowers and all crops grown on the farm.  This is a HEALTH AND SAFETY requirement.

Small dogs are allowed on the hayride as long as their owner holds them at all times.

Dogs are NOT allowed in the petting zoo or near any animal enclosures.

Pet owners are expected to clean up after their pets. There is a handwashing station, dog water bowl and dog-poop bag station/trashcan next to the porta potties at the front part of the farm.

ADMISSION TO THE FARM IS ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT PET OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR PETS AT ALL TIMES, AND ASSUME ALL RISK, LIABILITY AND SHALL HOLD JULIAN FARM AND ORCHARD HARMLESS FOR ANY ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR PETS VISITING THE FARM.

BACKGROUND:

Crops grown in close proximity to the ground are inherently higher risk crops for contamination when compared to crops growing farther from the ground. Crops typically consumed raw are also higher risk, and in many pick-your-own settings the customers are eating produce in the fields as they pick. Contact with animals can increase the risk of contamination of produce. We appreciate your cooperation.

Any dogs and their owners not adhering to the general welfare and safety of our guests, employees or our agricultural operations will be asked to leave.  We thank you for your cooperation and hope you and your pet have a wonderful time on the farm.
